Feng Shui [Alexander Wang's Way]

As I prepare for my trip to NYC Friday to apartment shop, my mind has been on all things related to the challenging yet exciting task of finding an apartment in the city and making it a representation of me. The neighborhood, the wall color, the angles of my couch and the positioning of my artwork on the walls. All of which are very important to me. When it comes to decor, I am more of ┬ámodern kind of guy. I like clean edges, complementing hues and chic lightening. In my mind I have a visual of exactly how I want my place to look and I can tell that I’m growing up as my priorities are shifting. Yes, I still appreciate shopping, thats never going to change however, I’ve been finding myself looking at lamps and area rugs and not so much shoes and shirts. After all, I never will understand how people are willing to spend thousands of dollars on garments yet invest little to nothing in the place they call home.

A while back designer Alexander Wang gave W Magazine an indepth look into his $2 Million Tribeca Worth Street Loft. I love his place, its like many of his Fashion collections just in a different form. I appreciate the Karl Springer coffee table, the black crocodile dining chairs, his zebra rug, the goat fur covered black chairs and of course those Serge Mouille floor lamps. I have a lot of work ahead of me. With the proper time and patience, my future NYC apartment will be just how I want it. Stay tuned as I will be sure to keep you posted along the journey.
