All in the Family

I finally arrived in New York City and I’m glad to be here, but it was tough leaving behind those important people back home. I got the chance to spend some time with one of my [favorite] cousins, Chayenne, before I left and it might just have been the best day that I had back home during those three weeks. Let’s take it back just a little bit…

As you can see from the video above, we started the day with a little Do-It-Yourself project that we’d been planning for about two months. I’m sure you guys have seen a couple of the skull cut-out sweaters that people have been making lately. Well, we pulled out the scissors and got to work, but that was just the beginning.

Next, we went thrifting for a little bit then headed over to City Centre, where we spent the rest of the day. Our first stop was RA Sushi, an awesome Japanese restaurant that has the [best] sushi I’ve ever had. If you’re in the Houston area, you need to take a trip in that direction and try one of their Tropical Rolls. You’re life won’t be complete until you do. From there, we headed over to the Studio Movie Grill to see Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in 3D and then onto Red Mango (similar to Pink Berry) to chill out. Our last stop was over to this hotel spot where she and her friends hang out after work. There’s a huge wine bar, a nice little lounge area, and we took a second to use the computer area to check out each other’s recent work.

It was an awesome day. We’ve always had a good relationship, but as we’ve gotten older, we seem to get more and more on the same page. It’s great having that one family member that gets you inside and out. I can’t wait to get back in August for Round 2.
