My imaginary connection to the Givenchy brand must be getting stronger and stronger. Over the past few months, I’ve tweeted and talked about how much I want a Doberman, going on and on about how it’s the perfect dog in so many ways. Maybe that was my own interesting way of forecasting for the Pre-Fall 2013 season, but Riccardo Tisci clearly felt the same way. His Givenchy Pre-Fall 2013 Menswear collection was released this week and, as usual, it’s amazing.
Kicking the Rottweiler to the curb this season for a chicer and sleeker choice, the Doberman can be found plastered on piece after piece and it looks fantastic. I always love the fact that each pre-fall or resort collection that Tisci and his team present blend together the prior and coming seasons into one consistent and progressive motion, incorporating noticeable elements from each season and blending them together into an intricate puzzle of stunning visuals.
This time, we’re getting argyle, denim, and the Doberman mixed in with the typical stars, leather and man-skirts (which happen to be a bit slimmer this go around). I’m so excited for this coming year in fashion. It’s really shaping up to be a breathtaking one in the industry. Check out the full lookbook below.
