I recently looked into the [sustainability] movement that’s been growing throughout the country, which basically involves running more efficient companies, reducing wastes, and helping keep the environment as healthy as possible. It made me really want to get involved with the whole [go-green] campaign, so in celebration of my friend Darnell’s 21st birthday, we went over to Greenhouse to do our part for the planet. Seriously though, the venue is made from recycled materials and features LED lighting, low-flow urinals & sinks, and low-blow air conditioning systems. To make things even better, the place is filled with greenery and it’s the only LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) night club in New York City.
In addition to being good to Mother Nature, Greenhouse NYC is one of the hottest clubs in the city. Ne-Yo, Kanye, Keri Hilson, & Ray J are just a few of the celebrities that have held exclusive events at Greenhouse over the past year, and that doesn’t even begin to describe the high traffic of celebrities that make their way through this hotspot. In fact, Jay-Z & Prince were there the week before we went and on the night of our visit, Jim Jones and Nate Robinson of the Oklahoma City Thunder came through, so it was pretty cool getting to spend the night in such an elite establishment. Rumor has it that Pusha T showed up, but couldn’t get inside. I don’t know how accurate that really is (although I didn’t see him inside…), but it definitely made the experience even cooler. Check out some of the fun below.
My name is Jovel and I support the go-green movement.
