The idea of [cool] tends to frequently get lost in translation and I’m sure we all have our own idea of what [cool] really is. When I think of [cool], I think of something that is fresh, daring, enticing and sometimes even misunderstood. If you follow me on Twitter or even take a gander through some archived posts, I’m sure this will all add up and make complete sense to you! Last night I found myself on YouTube (as I often do) and I came across this 2 part Azealia Banks interview from Hunger TV and felt it was indeed worthy of me blogging about it (obviously!).
In this 2 part interview, Azealia discusses her teenage years living in Harlem, attending LaQuardia School of Arts, her concept of how trends are born and the importance of being an Artist who is hands on and has a major influence on all decisions made related to their personal brand. As many times as I have said it and you have probably read it; Azealia Banks is one of my favorite Artists of not just the Music industry, but Pop Culture as a whole. She has that [it] factor that leaves me wanting more and more each time I see/hear her. I am extremely curious and ecstatic for what’s next. Until then, press play and be sure to watch part 2 as well.
