Independence City: We Salute Thee

The weather was absolutely amazing, the city of New York was festive and my July 4th was spent with some of the most incredible people ever. Interning in NYC during the summer comes with so many perks. The concerts, the shopping, the networking and of course the laughter– its all apart of the “experience”. The largest fireworks show in the nation (yes in the nation) was and has been sponsored by the company I work for; Macy*s Inc. There was not one moment I did not enjoy. I’m sure this pictorial will give you a better understanding why…

The day began with a walk through Chelsea with Mike, Lisa and Hilary. We walked the streets, took a few pictures and talked about the most random things that somehow all made sense upon the conclusion of the conversations. After a while we needed to take a break from the sun and decided to go down under to one of our favorite places to replenish, revamp and unwind. With the company of my Spel-House fam, Taylor, Chad and Monique, it was time to kick back and prepare for part II. Once we were all re-fueled and was ready to go, our yellow car service picked us up and took us over to the Chelsea Piers for the show production. The grass became our bed, ¬†Beyonce’ was featured on our soundtrack and the sky became a spectacle full of bright lights which made for unforgettable memories. This is one day/night that will certainly go down in the history books.
