TNN Style Chronicles: Pelaya Diaz Zapico
This guy right here… Sometimes I’m just at a loss for words when it comes to Pelayo Diaz. Known for making moves and setting trends, this young man is the epitome of what I’d call a modern style icon and it doesn’t take much effort to see why. Every time I stumble across an image of him, he looks dangerously well put together and makes it look effortless. He definitely makes me want to expand my wardrobe, to say the least…
As I hinted at earlier, Pelayo is taking over the world (well, the world of fashion anyways). This Spanish-born Londoner has reached the end of his tenure at Central Saint Martins, one of the world’s most reputable art & design institutions, and is ready to spread his wings. He began his career in fashion design by creating custom pieces for a few celebrities, including Rihanna and Alexa Chung, and he recently released his first official collection, entitled Nobody Knows, which brings a preppy [edge] to womenswear. With great people like Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce on his side, he’s sure to keep him moving in the right direction, although it doesn’t seem like he needs too much guidance. His name stands pretty well on its own; and I think his blog, KateLovesMe.net, makes that very clear. After being invited to several of the biggest shows during this past fashion week, you can trust and believe that it has been overflowing with great content.
When it comes to Pelayo’s personal style, I always see the perfect blend of Kyrell’s style and mine [amplified to the nth degree]. He’s not afraid to step outside of the box, but he never takes things too far (and if he ever did, I think he’d be well-entitled to do so). He’s certainly a barrier breaker and, even more importantly, a game changer. Check out some of his looks below.
