Gather around young tastemakers for todays lesson. The topic of discussion are [pants], written and illustrated by the recent CFDA‘s Swarovski Award recepient for [Best Emerging Menswear Designer], Phillip Lim. This S/S ’13 season of Menswear has done something to my spirit and has me extremely thrilled to rebuild my wardrobe with so many extraordinary pieces to choose from. If I had to wear one designer for the rest of my life, Phillip Lim would certainly be one of my top picks; no hesitation whatsoever.
The Japanese culture provided Lim with inspiration for this knockout worthy collection. Lim creatively created what he calls “Street Stylers- fighters with hustle swagger”. An updated and more modern approach to the wide-legged Karate pant. Lim incorporated a more tapered leg, printed canvas work and a sense of causal sophistication that is nothing short of amazing. These pants work on your day off while running errands around the city, a dinner date and i’ll even saunter into the office with these on. Functionality, Style and Edge. Trifecta!
