Reporting Live: NYFW Wrap Up Report [Part I]

Yes, it is I, Kenneth Kyrell. Its been a while since I posted but with my recent move to New York City, the start of my career as an Assistant Accessory Buyer for Macy’s Inc. and unpacking boxes /painting the walls in my apartment etc; I guess you can say I have been a bit busy. With the wrap up of New York Fashion Week, there is so much that I have to share with you all. I went to numerous shows and Fashion Week events and I’m giving you the best seat, as I take this week to share some of my favorite looks. I’ll also be posting a trend report very soon so stay on the look out for that as well. Right now, lets take a look at my picks from the 2013 Spring Monika Chiang Presentation…

I like to think that this collection was designed with the millennial woman in mind. I could certainly see the “fashion-forward young woman who appreciates structure with a touch of both sass and edge” wearing many, if not all the pieces from this collection. The sequined and beaded work, water color printed pants and statement footwork was my favorite. The detailed leather, dressed up chiffon and baseball inspired caps; is where the Uptown girl and Downtown girl come together as one. A trend from many of the shows that I attended [which you will see later this week] was the biker jacket. This collection in particular incorporated the biker jacket paired with dresses and skirts with plenty of zippers in tow. Just when you thought you had to put away your leather after the Fall/Winter season; think again. Be sure to take a gander at more of my favorite looks below and visit TNN later this week as my [Reporting Live: New York Fashion Week Wrap Up Report] continues.
