The [Skye] is the limit.

I am no A&R by any means, but who’s to say that i’ll never be one. Businesses, Basketball teams, Restaurants, and Prime Real Estate. Why not add Record Label to the list as well? Talent is everywhere, but it takes more than just that. You must be consistent, have personality, a look and a mentality that overpowers any negativity that may come your way. When you’re making moves and going places, people will talk. Sounding like a pack of hungry birds- chirp chirp. In a world of so much artificial flavoring, its easy for talent to be excessively saturated with extrinsic sugars. Its like kool-aid that has the consistency of syrup. Its sweet but just not right.

Los Angeles, once apart of Mexico and the second most populated city in the United States [geography was my favorite class in middle school] has had a major influence in producing and finding the talent of today, yesterday and even tomorrow. Los Angeles is the home of the beautiful and extremely talented 17 year old, Skye Townsend. Music, Fashion, and Acting Skye does it all and its just a matter of time before everyone else realizes it. If your eyes and ears are going bad I encourage you to make an appointment with an Optometrist and Otolaryngologist right this very second because Skye Townsend is someone you wouldn’t want to miss.

Q&A with [Skye Townsend]

KM: When were you first introduced to music?

ST: I first began singing at 3 years old. It came very natural and I was so passionate about it. Although I was not a child prodigy with an incredible voice, my family picked up on how serious I took music.

KM: What makes your “World Turn”?

ST: I want to be an influence for my generation and anybody else willing to listen. I am fueled by human rights and humanitarianism. I feel as if music will be my key to the bigger picture. I think that there is so much going on in the world that people don’t even bother to learn about. I am also fueled by education.  School is very important but educating ones self about life is most important.

KM: Musically, who inspires you?

ST:  I love Beyonce as far as this current generation. I love a lot of old-school music such as Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday and Bob Marley. I love hearing different sounds and genres blend and am very fond of the bands Beirut and The Script.

KM: In the next 5 years, where do you see yourself?

ST: I hope to be a well known brand and have my name tied to many different projects and sections of the arts. My goal is to have released some albums and really be active in acting, writing as well as clothing.

KM: Do you have any major plans for this upcoming year?

ST:I will be in the studio doing a lot of sound developing soon and dropping some projects to keep everybody interested.

KM: How do you feel about pop-culture of today?

ST: I am not too impressed.

KM: What is one quote that you connect with?

ST: “The best thing about life is that every 24 hours we have a chance to start over.”
