Honestly, it amazes me how blessed I am to be able to interact with such cool brands on a regular basis. Last week, I made my way over to the High Line in the Meatpacking District for a special event a colleague of mine invited me to. Swatch was hosting its launch party for the new Scuba Libre collection atop [the historic freight rail turned park] and the rain wasn’t the only thing that had me feeling like I was entering a water-filled wonderland. The brand pulled out mermaids, scuba divers, jellyfish, and an awesome assortment of watches fit for a deep-sea diver, but cool enough for your everyday, fashion-forward guy. Check it out.

If it came down to it, I’d always choose fashion over function. Luckily, the Scuba Libre series is made up of durable devices that actually look great on your wrist at the same time. Trust me, I’m wearing one right now; and after surviving the harsh rains of Day I of Governors Ball last Friday, I feel comfortable that it won’t be breaking anytime soon. The collection is divided into three categories: Mad About Styling, Mad About Performance, & Mad About Diving (seen above in this order). Naturally, I fell in love with the “styling” category. The transparent detailing of the faces and rotational bezels are great features that make these the perfect “statement pieces” as far as I’m concerned.
