Its like Home Away From Home

Yesterday [Thanksgiving Day] was a day full of food, laughs, great conversation and the simple things in life that can relieve stress better than anything else. The boys and I hit the road Tuesday night right after our exam and were New Orleans bound for the break. With a lot of Bounce Music a few naps here and there and a countless number of thoughts, we finally made it. We gave our alarms a break and woke up on our own. Once we enjoyed an amazing brunch and got ourselves together, we made our way to Mississippi…

Being away from my family in North Carolina was a bit odd however, I felt right at home and was welcomed with that good ole’ southern hospitality. We ate good, Aunt Wanda and Aunt Diane had us all rolling during the infamous game of Spades and Juel had a blast terrorizing cats and running around with all the other dogs. Naps after meals and waking up to the smell of Aunt Bay’s thick sliced bacon, rice, buttery biscuits and eggs is just what a country boy from North Carolina like myself needed. Its now time to get out of these pajamas and head back to the Big Easy in just a few hours. New Orleans always shows me a great time and thats where I’ll be for the next 2.5 days.
