These days i’ve been experiencing while at home in North Carolina have been exactly what I needed. I leave for New York City in ten days and will be there all summer working, working and oh yeah… working. Since i’ve been home my discovery of new music has blessed my ears with new sounds which in return has provided me with new sources of inspiration. An artist who has been in heavy rotation in my itunes library is Theo Martins. I was first introduced to Theo from Street Etiquette’s The Black Ivy spread and once again in their Sartorial Sounds project. This Rhode Island native has been recognized by quite a few lately and was even profiled by AOL’s TheBVX.com as a “Need To Know” artist. His latest street album entitled “Sincerely Yours, The Dance Floor” integrate the sounds of Hip-Hop, Pop, and Electro funk. With guest appearances from Mike Snow, Gordon Voidwell, and Plan B, the point of this post is even more obvious. My summer playlist is in full effective and growing larger by the day. After all I am going to need some feel good music as I trek through the Concrete Jungle. The sounds of Theo Martins will help me do just that.
