Deep in the magic land that I like to call SoHo, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld‘s The Little Black Jacket digital exhibition is on display. Honoring one of fashion’s most iconic, versatile, and timeless pieces, the Chanel little black jacket, the exhibition features 113 black and white photographs of celebrities, models, fashion influencers, and other major figures in popular culture sporting the jacket in their own, unique way.
The project was conceptualized over a year ago by Roitfeld and Lagerfeld and the photographs, all shot by Lagerfeld, were taken over the past year in New York City, Paris, and the south of France. The pictures feature a wide variety of influential figures, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Theophilus London, Freja Beha Erichson, Anna Wintour, and so many more. The shots will be released in a book titled The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited ($98), which is set to drop on August 15th. If you ask me, it’s a must-have for any fashion lover or pop-culture buff. You can trust and believe that it’ll be on my coffee table.
