So, at this point, I think we’ve all gotten a chance to recover from the madness of NYFW:Mens, right? Right. I know it was definitely a busy four days for me. Nonetheless, between the new collections and new connections, I’d say it was my best season yet. I’m happy about the direction that Mensweek seems to be moving in, and despite unsubstantiated rumors that it might be coming to an indefinite stop soon, I hope it continues getting stronger in the coming years.
Seriously, it’s kind of crazy how quickly a year’s time can come and go. My trip to Montauk last summer feels like it was just two weeks ago. Nonetheless, this past weekend, a few of us escaped the city limits yet again to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. And this time, we hit the Hamptons—Westhampton Beach to be exact—to help him bring on the big 2-7 in the perfect way.
Given our host was a friend of a friend, I won’t share too many details about his home, which he graciously opened up to us, but I will thank him for his beyond-belief hospitality and great company. From the pool floaties and beach waves to bonfire S’mores and an amazing homemade dinner, I’m pretty sure we all felt like it was our birthday. No doubt, this is one tradition I definitely plan on keeping strong. Check out some of my favorite shots from our time in the Hamptons below. -J
