With today—the summer solstice—marking the official start of the new season, there’s no better time to share a few photos from the Handmade Pop-Up Dinner in Prospect Park earlier this month. With everyone dressed in all-white (all 6,000 of us), and one of my best friends in town, it was the perfect way to (un)officially kick off the best time of the year in NYC.
The suicide squad (codename for the crazy group of creatives I spend most of my time with) gathered in its freshest white threads for an enchanting evening of fine foods and banter. Translation: We bought and prepared a ton of food, packed up like twenty bottles of spirits, and set up a full-on presentation (courtesy of IKEA and our personal dining rooms, haha) for a night to remember. Our theme: Swedish Midsummer.
Hands down, the best part of the weekend was having Lisa in town. You know those electric relationships you have with certain special people? That’s her. She’s one of those friends that really light me up.
As the night went on, twenty bottles became two, the sun set, and things got a little blurry… -J
